It’s time to plan your next trip, but where will you go? Whether you’re looking for outdoor excitement or a relaxing trip on an island, there’s a perfect trip for you. Here are some ideas on where to travel on your next trip.
Take a Trip to Greece
Greece is an incredible place and well worth the trip. Flying into and spending some time in Athens is a great place to start. This truly historical city will leave you in awe. Visit the Parthenon and Athenian Acropolypse. Learn about the Greek gods and the ancient culture of this nation. You definitely won’t want to miss the unique history of the changing of the palace guard.
From Athens, it’s easy to take public transportation to many beautiful beaches. Have a cocktail on the beach. Then watch the sunset over the sea. Have dinner at the waterside and enjoy local dishes.
Greece also has a number of amazing islands you can visit. Cruise ships are a great way to get to many of them. Visit islands such as Santorini or Mykonos. A visit to the island Delos will give you a taste of history and culture—the island is uninhabited and said to be the birthplace of the Greek gods.
Visit the Wild West
If you’re looking for adventure, take a trip to the wild west. Take a road trip through West Texas and into New Mexico. Here you’ll see scenery that is the backdrop for most western films, from John Wayne to present.
Fly into Amarillo, Lubbock or Midland, Texas and rent a car. From here, there are a number of places to stop. You’ll definitely want to visit Big Bend National Park. This park sits on the Texas border with Mexico and offers many unique terrains for hiking and horseback riding.
Visit the Chisos Mountains or go deep into the Chihuahuan Desert. You can even cross into Mexico in the park. The park offers 150 miles of trails to explore.
While in the area, stop in Marfa. Marfa has come up to be an artists’ dream in the middle of the desert. There are unique exhibits in the city center and in the middle of the desert. Be sure to stop at Prada, Marfa while you’re there. This art exhibit consists of a fully stocked Prada store in the middle of the desert. The juxtaposition of high fashion and stark emptiness is truly phenomenal.
You can also take a trip into New Mexico and visit places like Roswell and Carlsbad Caverns National Park. See all things unique and alien. Then, see amazing caves in the middle of the desert. You can end your trip with a couple days in Albuquerque. This amazing city has a unique art scene, inspired by Native American culture.
Scope Out Spain
For a mix of city life and beach life, take a trip to Spain. Spain is made up of 17 different regions and all have unique geographies and cultures.
Madrid is a great place to start your trip. In Madrid, take a stop at the Royal Palace and visit the Prado Museum. This region is also where to go if you want a view of the running of the bulls.
Also consider a trip to the very different Catalonia region of Spain. Barcelona is the capital and is set on the coast. The city is full of the amazing architecture of Antoni Gaudi. Take a stroll through the Las Ramblas while there and taste fresh fruit and seafood.
The food and wine of Spain is worth a visit all by itself. Don’t leave the country without trying paella, the national dish of Spain. This dish consists of rice, seafood, meat and veggies all steamed together. Eat it while enjoying a glass of rioja. Or, have tapas on a street patio while celebrating with a glass of cava.
