Jhakarkati Bus Station, also known as Major Salman Khan Bus Station, is a Kanpur-based interstate bus terminal. The Kanpur city’s Jhakarkati bus terminal will soon be transformed to an interstate bus depot, thanks to a proposal by the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) to outfit the facility with best-in-class amenities.
According to the design, the rebuilt bus station would include premium amenities such as a food court, shopping complex, relaxing roams, and even theatres. The bus terminal will be rebuilt under a public-private partnership (PPP) format, for which bids have already been issued.
Kanpur’s Jhakarkati bus depot has a total space of 22,000 square metres, of which 30% will be used to build a complex facility for passengers. 45% of the space will be used for commercial purposes, with the remaining 55% designated for bus operations.
