Many new mothers will tell you that being pregnant was one of the best things to ever happen to them in their life and knowing and feeling that there was a baby growing inside their tummies was something that they just couldn’t describe, but it was all good. Your body is going to change in ways that you might not be aware of right now but the good news is that with a little bit of effort on your part and exercise and diet, you might be able to get your body back to close to where it was before. The thing that you do have to accept however is that you are going to change physically and mentally when carrying your baby and after you have your new baby. Many new mothers are surprised by the changes that happened to them and if you’re not ready and you don’t know about the changes, then it can lead to incidences of depression and anxiety.

New mothers often complain about sore nipples early pregnancy but you need to know that this is perfectly normal and it isn’t anything that you need to worry about. It is something that is completely natural and the vast majority of new mothers experience it. Once you start to accept that your body is going to change and it might not return to exactly what it was before, the sooner you can get on with your life and try to get yourself back to normal. The following are just some of the ways that your body will change during and after having your baby.

  1. Muscle & body aches – Carrying around a baby for nine months and then finally bringing up baby out into the world is requiring a lot of effort on your part and it takes its toll on your body. After having your baby, your energy levels are going to be incredibly low and you’re going to feel tired and irritable even after buying a new mattress. Your body is also going to be sore in places that you have never been sore before. A lot of the pain that you will feel will be in your tummy because as your body returns back to its normal size, you’re going to get tummy aches for a little while. The good news is that it shouldn’t last very long and you can take some paracetamol to keep it in check.
  2. Swelling feet & hands – This can be a little bit disconcerting for any new mother because rather than seeing your body get slimmer because your baby is no longer inside you, your extremities start to swell and this includes both your hands and your feet. Other parts of your body will be affected as well let your ankles and your neck and has gone take a little while for all of this fluid to leave your body so that you can get back to some element of normality.  

These are just two things that you’re going to experience and your body is going to change in many other ways. On the positive side, your breasts will be much larger than normal and so if you are a lady who has small breasts then this will be a welcome change.
