UPSC or the Union Public Service Commission conducts the entire process of Civil Services exams to select and recruit talented officers on the basis of their eligibility and educational qualifications for several important positions of the country every year. Similarly, as the previous years, the UPSC 2021 vacancy has already published.
This year the examination notification was already released on the date March 4th, which was actually delayed near about three weeks from the due date of release and the important information mentioned about both the vacancies and eligibility criteria of the UPSC exam. Union Public Service Commission has already released an official notification with the mention of the fact that this year the exam will fill up near about 712 Vacancies.
The official notification stated by UPSC that the exam would take place to fill up near about 712 UPSC Vacancies, which has already reduced almost 11% of the total vacancies offered in the year 2020.
Commonly, the number of the vacancies for the post of IAS or Indian Administrative Services remains constant that is, 180 posts every year, and for IPS it becomes 150 posts, whereas the vacancies for the other posts may change annually according to the requirements of various departments.
Date of application
UPSC had already started giving out the application forms for those students or candidates who are the aspirants of civil service on March 4th, and the last date of filling out the application forms for the Prelims, through online, was the 24th day of March.
The number of vacancies for 2021 has changed significantly with a decrease of 84 seats for the UPSC 2021 Vacancy as compared to the previous year 2020. So, this year the candidates need to compete for those 712 vacancies, including those which are reserved for the PWD candidates. The entire examination seats are classified under “Group-A” and “Group – B”. Group A has the three most important All-India Services that are IAS (Indian Administrative Service), IFS (Indian Foreign Service) and IPS (Indian Police Service).
About the syllabus of UPSC
The first stage of UPSC exam is the Prelims; it has two papers of objective type questions. The syllabus of the Prelims include Geography, History of India, Polity, current events of both National and International importance, Economic and social development, General science and also issues on Ecology and climate etc.
The second one or the CSAT paper covers the topics, such as: Communication and comprehension skills, problem solving skills, Analytical thinking, Logical reasoning, Basic numeracy etc.
Preparation of the UPSC exam
If you want to clear the UPSC exam, it is better to get enough test practice. This is true for the exams that are, prelims and main.
