We have always been told from a very young age that we should take any necessary vaccinations that will help to protect us in our childhood and later on into adulthood. It is important that we are immunised against many diseases that have long since disappeared because there is no way of knowing if they will pop up again in the future. Everyone needs to get vaccinated because if there are a few million people who refuse to do so then this jeopardises everyone’s future. As the head of the household, it is your job to make sure that both yourself and your other family members get properly vaccinated according to government immunisation programmes.
Businesses lose millions in lost revenue every single year due to illness and many of the diseases that are found in the workplace are incredibly contagious and so if you are not vaccinated against the flu for example, then you have the potential to affect literally hundreds of fellow workers. This is why many businesses opt for essential, protective Corporate Flu Vaccinations for all of their staff and it shows workers that management really do care about their health. It is fair to say that immunisation has literally saved millions of lives over the years and vaccines will continue to do so long into the future. If you still need a gentle reminder about the infectious diseases that are still within our communities every single day then maybe the following shortlist can help to educate you somewhat.
- Coronavirus – This is the current generation’s most recent experience of a disease that has spread throughout the world and still continues to do so even now. Scientists and doctors are still learning about it even today after 2 ½ years as it continues to change and mutate into many different strains. Research is ongoing all the time and many people who caught the disease are now suffering from what is called long covid and we really don’t know how long it’s going to last.
- The flu – This is with us every single year and many employees go down with the flu on more than one occasion. It is a common health issue and is something that we have learned to live with but it continually changes throughout our lifetimes and so it is important that you get your flu shot once you reach the age of 50 or you are immune compromised.
- Chicken/monkey pox – Chickenpox has been around for a generation and now monkey pox is spreading throughout the world and is something that we are trying to deal with right now. There have been incidences of outbreaks in many countries of the world and there is a strong likelihood that it will be making a pretty strong comeback.
These are just three of the many infectious diseases that are out there and other things like Zika, Ebola and HIV are still with us. It can take a significant amount of time to develop a vaccine because it needs to be safe and it needs to be effective.
